Music for Dance/Study: Till Apes ill tapes, Vol. 1
Something Saturday 01: what I found interesting this week
A new series in which I showcase something I find interesting. This week we are looking at an album by Till Apes’ ill tapes Vol.1. It is an album filled with nine tracks of varying genres from afro-jazz to hip-hop. Perfect for grooving to the melody or focusing while working.
This is a new style that I am experimenting with, as longer posts take quite some time for me to write. My current plan is one ‘usual’ post monthly with shorter articles in between. Do let me know what you think of this new format.
I discovered this album from Abhinav, the lead guitarist for The F16s. As soon as I heard it for the first time, I knew I’d be interested in this.
I first felt compelled to listen to it as my focus music, but it quickly moved into my Liked Songs playlist as their songs were always in my head.
Till Apes is a six-piece band originating in Bangalore, India. They categorise their music as neo-soul and hip-hop. They released an album named Lift Off in 2020.
My favourite song from the album is Be Who.
Do let me know if you give them a listen!
Until next time,
Tony
